Phishing Revisited

There’s been a renewed buzz around here lately about phishing so I thought I dig back into the archives for an article I published to educate our customer about this thing called phishing.  Click here  to check it out.

Residential Customers with Businesses

It’s not unusual to hear our residential customers talk with our reps about how much they rely on our services because they’re running a business from home.  It’s usually during trouble scenarios, when customers are upset about a service problem , so we find that this is not the ideal time to talk about our business product offerings.  So, I thought now, on The WOW!  Buzz , would be the perfect time.

WOW! Business Solutions is the commercial arm of our business.  This team of experts can develop a customized service plan to meet the unique needs of your business whether your own a large business, small business, or home-based business.  In terms of post-sale service delivery, WOW Business Solutions also has a team of highly skilled, experienced field techicians and service support staff, to keep your business up and running smoothly.  So, if your livelihood depends upon internet, cable, or phone, it may be worth your while to at least go check out the WOW! Business Solutions  website, give them a call, and see what they can do to meet your business needs.

Maintenance, Did you know….?

The majority of scheduled maintenance work is performed between 1am and 5am local time. This timeframe is used because it impacts the least amount of customers that have WOW! service. Preventive maintenanace work is also performed at night Monday through Thursday. This time is used due to the low usage of Internet and Voice. Video has low usage during these hours but our VideoOnDemand product tends to have a higher usage. Because of this, we schedule maintenance for VideoOnDemand at 5am local time. Whenever maintenance is performed that will affect a large group of customers or a community for more the 15 minutes, we will deliver bulletins to the affected WOW! customers  via computers within 48 hours of the scheduled work. We will also post this information on the Network Status page of the Customer Portal.

Sports Fans Rejoice – WOW! Will Offer ESPN3

I hear a chorus of hoorays being shouted as many sports fans will appreciate the addition of ESPN3 access this Thursday, September 30th.  WOW! HSD customers will have access to 3,000+ yearly events that are broadcasted on the website.

So what is ESPN3?  It is a broadband network for live sports programming through an interactive environment.  Most of the content is exclusive to ESPN 3 and the other programming is from one of ESPN’s TV networks.  You’ll now have access to College Football and Basketball games, NBA, MLB, UEFA Champions League Soccer, The Masters, US Open Golf, all four Grand Slam tennis tournaments and much more.  In addition, you’ll get a full interactive experience that has real time in-game stats, scoreboards and live chat.

You’re probably wondering how you access the ESPN3 content.  Well, if you are on the WOW! network, you are automatically authorized to view the content.  Yes, it is that simple!

And, for those users wondering if their computer has the appropriate system requirements, here is what ESPN3 suggests for the best viewing experience:

Online Phone Features Available Now

With the new customer homepage that launched late last month, WOW Internet and Phone customers were given access to some really cool online phone features. Click here to go to the homepage.  When you login to your account from the homepage, you’ll see a new voicemail and phone manager tab.  From the voicemail tab, you can manage voicemail settings,  listen to voicemail messages, download or delete them.   From the phone manager tab, you can enable call features like selective call rejection, anonymous call rejection, and others.  One of the most exciting features is that you can set the number of rings before calls are sent to voicemail.  This is one you have been asking for, so now you have it!  If you need help navigating around  the site, please feel free to give us a call at 1-866-496-9669 and we’ll walk you through it.  And, in closing, I have an “inside scoop” for our blog readers.  I was at the employee summer event  yesterday afternoon (a talent show and barbecue) and I spoke with our Product Manager, Ray Rouleau.  Ray says there’s more cool features coming soon, so stay tuned.
