Meet The Blog Team

Hi! We are The WOW! Buzz blog team. We’re full time WOW! employees who have day to day responsibilities across departments including Human Resources, Customer Care, Technology, Finance and Marketing. While we are not experienced bloggers (yet!), we share a common passion for WOW! and an understanding that it’s not “what” we do, but “how” we do it. Our focus is to share our individual experiences on The WOW! Buzz and to learn from those who engage with us.

We look forward to chatting with you!

  • I've been part of the WOW! Corporate Marketing team since March 2003. It's rare to find people that say "I love what I do and where I work". But it's true - I really do love what I do and where I work. WOW! is unlike any other company I've been part of.

As the Administrator of The WOW! Buzz, it's my role to work with our Editors and Contributors to bring you relevant information, to help share WOW! Moments and to share photos from across our various departments and locations.

  • I was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania. I’d lived in “PA” my whole life, until moving to Colorado in the year 2000. The town I now live in is called Castle Rock, and as you might imagine, there is a large rocky mesa landmark in town that, from a distance, looks like a castle. Castle Rock, at an elevation of 6,202 feet, is conveniently located midway between Denver and Colorado Springs. I travel south every day about 35 miles to work at the WOW! Customer Care Center in Colorado Springs. The Call Center, located on the north side of town, features a beautiful, scenic view of Pikes Peak, one of the many “fourteeners” in Colorado. Colorado is a wonderful state to live in, a perfect state for anyone who loves recreation and the great outdoors. I’ve worked at WOW! in various roles since moving to Colorado. My current role is managing the Customer Care Quality Assurance Department. In my job, I get to listen to lots of customer calls and it’s apparent to me that WOW! is really fortunate to have such a friendly and loyal customer base. It’s no wonder we appreciate and value our customers so much!

  • I started with WOW! , in February 2001, as a T2 (technical support) with about 25 others in the call center. Those 25 included: T1, T2, Management, HR, NOC and the SVP. After 6 months and the purchase of Americast Cable, I was promoted to the position of T2 supervisor. At that time, I was the only T2 supervisor. I spent 4 years in that position and when the opportunity arose, I moved into the position I currently hold as the CEO Customer Advocate.

As the CEO Customer Advocate, my duties include: Listening to customer concerns and the resolution, responding to government agencies (FCC, Attorney General, PUC, BBB, etc.) and monitoring various websites for possible issues. My additional duties include assisting with the training and coaching of our Escalation Line Customer Care Reps and the coordination of visitors to the Customer Care Center.

  • I have been with WOW! for over eight years and can’t believe how lucky I am to be the Chief Marketing Officer for this extraordinary company. How often in one's professional life do you get to work every day in a culture that's aligned with your personal values? I love that each of us strives to do what's right for our customers and each other; that we understand we won't always get it right, but we endeavor to continually learn; and that we share a lot of laughs by not taking ourselves too seriously. My family and I are truly blessed to be a part of the WOW! community.

  • I am the Sr. HR Manager for Ohio which includes the Columbus and Cleveland markets. I earned a bachelors degree in Accounting and worked as a business manager, I found myself liking the people side of my job more and more. I later moved in the direction of HR, finishing my 2nd degree in Human Resources Management and then becoming certified as an SPHR (Senior Professional of Human Resources). I found it so fulfilling to help people, through hiring and helping them grow their careers and improve the quality of life for themselves as well as for their families. I came to WOW in October, 2001. WOW seemed to be the perfect place for me. The culture and values matched my ideas of what a company should be and what a rewarding job could be for me and I enjoy being here.

  • Who doesn’t love some good entertainment? Whether it is hearing the latest gossip about my favorite celebrities or reality stars, catching up on my shows with my prized possession, my Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 DVR or watching a refreshingly funny movie, I love the entertainment world.

My name is Libby Pawlick. I have been with WOW! for the past three years as a Regional Marketing Representative in Illinois. Some might say I am a jack of all trades. You might find me riding out with our technicians in the field, working with HR on our Helping Hands volunteer initiative or working on my monthly plan. It sounds cheesy, but I love what I do here at WOW!

I can’t wait to hear from my fellow entertainment mongers who equally share my excitement.

    WOW! Date:Joined WOW on 11/26/2001
    Education: M.A. Employee Relations
Past Jobs: Previous, progressive career jobs all with Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers

Why I love WOW!: As a member of the Human Resources field I firmly believe that employees are a company’s most important asset. It is both refreshing and rewarding to work with a management team that believes this too. At WOW!, our leadership team relies on the philosophy that happy, satisfied, engaged employees are the key to our success.

    3 Things About Me
    • Worms do not repulse me. I am the absolute happiest when I’m sitting in a small boat on a lake or a river, with my father, sister, husband or nephew…. casting for pan fish!
    • When I was in 5th grade, I won the spelling bee for 5th and 6th graders on the word n-e-c-e-s-s-a-r-y.
    • I love to cook and will try most anything. When I was in my first job out of grad school and on my first business trip (to NYC), we went to dinner in Chinatown. My boss ordered dessert and told me they were goats’ eyeballs. I believed him, and tried one anyway. The lychees were delicious.

  • I’ve worked in the field of Information-Technology for 25 years now and feel fortunate to have had ring-side seats to actually witness the evolution of computer technologies from where it was a quarter of a century ago to what we have available to us today. In many respects it is the equivalent of learning to drive in a Model-T versus the newest BMW. For those of you who may be reading this who have no idea what kind of car a Model-T is, think of a very old car with a zero-to-sixty speed of “never”!

As an I/T professional here at WOW!, my team is committed to using the latest technologies to both enhance the customer experience and to make the company’s operations as efficient as possible.

On the personal side my wife and I live on a small farm northeast of Denver where we are raising our 3 kids as well as horses, grass hay, and mini-donkeys (which are for amusement purposes only!), as well as an odd mix of other animals and assorted island-of-misfit toys type characters.

  • I have been in the cable industry for over 12 years, with the last seven years at WOW! and enjoying every bit of it. During that time I have served the company in many roles and currently provide Information Technology Support for our Illinois region.

I enjoy my WOW! Cable and Internet at home, mainly through a TiVo HD-DVR. My setup includes the TiVo (via two cable cards), a large screen Plasma TV, Xbox360, Wii, PS3, and even a PC that acts as a Media Hub in my home. I also enjoy the HD-DVR service on my SA 8300 elsewhere in my home, making sure not to miss a show. While my main entertainment system is constantly changing, these are the mainstays that are always connected.

When I was asked if I would like to talk about all the things I enjoy from electronics to entertainment (for work!) I jumped at the chance. Through my years at WOW! and in cable before, I have watched the progression of Cable TV, DVR’s, The “Rise of the Internet”, and many, many gadgets and companies come and go. In my current role, it’s my job to stay on top of what’s up and coming in Cable, Internet and more.

As this blog starts to develop, you will see a number of postings from me on all kinds of topics from video games, movies, TV, the gadget realm, and more. I gladly take on the ‘geek’ or ‘nerd’ title, but the vast majority of us no longer fall into the pocket-protector stereotype that people have gotten used to. Technology is universal these days and everyone’s involved. I look forward to meeting you all and finding out what gets you sitting down in front of the TV!

  • An employee of WOW! Internet Cable Phone since January 2007, Amber Clement is the Senior Human Resources Generalist for the Michigan region serving nearly 300 employees in the metro Detroit area. She tripped into the world of HR in 1997 and discovered an outlet for her massive love of filling out forms, which lead to 'professional paper pusher' school and a degree in HR Management.

When not at work surrounded by hundreds of Post It notes and blue clicker pens she enjoys shopping for the perfect handbag, chillaxing with friends and family for a round of full contact dominos, stalking Dexter, traveling, and pretending to care about going to the gym. She also enjoys a good puzzle, be it a crossword, mindless trivia or a logic game. Amber is the proud owner of one spoiled English bulldog named Rex, who also answers to the name ‘Piglet’ and fancies herself more a short tubby human with couch privileges than just a dog.

  • A little bit about me. I am originally from Austin, Texas- a state that is a whole other country! I moved to Evansville in January 1999 and have quickly adapted to the culture and environment. In Austin, it rarely snowed and when it did, the snow was so light that our snowballs were mostly cold mud. So imagine my delight when I was able to experience real snow here in Evansville. My family is very important to me and we have annual gatherings at a beach in Texas. Our beach reunions began as an effort to help with the "Don't Mess with Texas" campaign by dedicating 4 hours to pick up litter on the beach. This tradition began 20 years ago and is something we still practice today.

My work in the Telecommunications began at Time Warner Austin in 1996 and I immediately fell in love with the industry. I have always been devoted to serving the public and internal customers, so I find it very rewarding when I can make someone's day or suprise them with a special moment. My experience with WOW! has been especially rewarding for me since I have the privlege to work with great people, in a company that demonstrates "how it's supposed to be".

Tina House

  • Hello, My Name is Tina House and I'm the Director of our Dispatch Operation located in Naperville Illinois. I joined the WOW! family in December of 2004 so I just celebrated my 5th year with an organization I can still honestly say I am happy to be a part of. My prior work experience is in management and finance so I cut my teeth here at WOW! In Dispatch we have a team of 72 and we support our internal and external customers by providing Quota Management, Routing, Outbound Held/Save Calls, Dispatching and Phone Customer Service.

When I'm not here at work or on the road visiting our internal customers I spend time with family and friends or traveling for leisure. I also write poetry and spoken word in my spare time. I doubled majored in Political Science and Psychology with a minor in Behavioral Studies so I’ve always had an appreciation for fairness and the diversity that comes with individuality. My desire to understand and interact is fortunate because there is never a dull moment when you enjoy people like I do.

  • I have worked at WOW! for the past 7 years in many different departments. I have learned one thing at WOW!, Learn fast and execute better. To stay ahead of our competitors, we believe that ecouraging strong communication within the company is extremely paramount. Here at WOW! building solid relationships based upon the foundation of "our" company's core values, justifies why we are a different and better choice for our subscribers. Plain and simple "WE CARE ABOUT YOU".

When I clock in for work, I dedicate 110% of myself. I work hard but I also play hard. As a Gen-X-Er, I appreciate adventure and looking forward to the next challenge life has to offer. You can find me hiking up mountains, backpacking through National parks, or catching up on tv shows and great entertainment throughout the year.

  • I started at WOW! as a Customer Service Rep in February 2008 and have since been promoted to a Lead CSR, experienced the Colorado and Ohio regions first hand, and have had A TON of fun! These aren’t typically things I associate with work, but WOW! has been good to me. The only reason it's hard to come to work in the morning is because my bed is so comfy. Once I'm here though, I forget all about it.

When I'm not at work or school, I can be found on the softball diamond, at the hockey rink, somewhere in the rough on the front nine, or shredding down the side of a mountain, depending on the time of year, of course. But regardless of how busy I am I always make time for my family and my dog, Pudge.

I'm thankful for the opportunities life has given me, especially WOW!, and look forward to more years of dedicated service!

  • Greetings! I have been with WOW since December, 2001 and prior to that, held several positions with Ameritech New Media (Americast) including customer service rep, dispatcher, dispatch team leader and field manager. Telecommunications is actually a career rebirth (so to speak) since I actually started in the insurance industry straight out of school and worked my way up to owning my own agency specializing in commercial child care insurance. Life events changed my course and the rest, as I like to say, is history. I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost 18 years, have two Labrador retrievers (Yogi & Boo) and we are in the process of adopting a child! There are so many things I enjoy in life but I really cherish my family and friends and laugh whenever I can!
