Libby Pawlick
Who doesn’t love some good entertainment? Whether it is hearing the latest gossip about my favorite celebrities or reality stars, catching up on my shows with my prized possession, my Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 DVR or watching a refreshingly funny movie, I love the entertainment world.
My name is Libby Pawlick. I have been with WOW! for the past three years as a Regional Marketing Representative in Illinois. Some might say I am a jack of all trades. You might find me riding out with our technicians in the field, working with HR on our Helping Hands volunteer initiative or working on my monthly plan. It sounds cheesy, but I love what I do here at WOW!
I can’t wait to hear from my fellow entertainment mongers who equally share my excitement.
After the very warm and humid summer here in Chicago, this Labor Day weekend had none of that – it was cool, somewhat cloudy and temps maybe in the high 70’s.
With the fall-like weather, instead of firing up the grill, I decided to whip out a recipe that I typically reserve for the fall and winter. A couple of years ago, I found a recipe for a Chicken Enchilada Soup that was very close to what you can get at your local Chili’s. It’s so close that even my husband can’t tell the difference.
I love recipes that don’t have too many ingredients, simple prep and cooking time isn’t too outrageous. In addition, who doesn’t love the smell of delicious food wafting through the house.
The Chicken Enchilada Soup recipe is pretty straight forward. You might not have some of the ingredients such as the Masa Harina or Cumin but they are only a couple bucks each and you can pick them up at your local grocery store.
The nice thing about this recipe is that you can also put your own twist on it as well. I like to add a little extra Chili Powder and Cumin. When I serve it up, I like to add a Pico de Gallo, Cheddar Cheese and a little Sour Cream to the top.
What is one of your favorite recipes that reminds you of fall?

I understand the whole idea of cross-promotion for networks – Get your viewership numbers up for the night by getting viewers from a highly popular show to watch for your big cast announcement. But, really ABC, why would you try to force me to watch the Bachelor Pad just so I can find out who’s the next cast of Dancing with the Stars. There has been enough speculation going around about who’s on the show as is – with an even bigger focus on reality TV stars. Didn’t Kate Gosselin teach you anything? On top of reality stars, now we are getting more politics in the mix with Sarah Palin’s daughter, Bristol on the show. Seriously? I know that no one is going to be pleased with every single cast member that is chosen but don’t stray away from what made the show popular in the first place, dancing.
I would love to hear your thoughts about the show and the potential cast for this upcoming season.

Tonight we get to witness Ali choosing her husband to be or maybe not. But who cares about that when on last week’s tell all, ABC was hyping up their new series The Bachelor Pad. In Bachelor fashion they are bringing back some of the past seasons notorious bachelors and bachelorettes to duke it out for $250k. Let’s see, men and women stuck in the same bedroom fighting for money will definitely give viewers something to watch.
But what next? Does it ever end? Do we as a viewing public get tired of watching the same stuff season after season with no couple ever getting married with the exception of two?
The jury is out until next week.

Who would have thought that watching TV shows on the Internet would be as big as it is today? I remember back in college the excitement of installing a video card that gave me the opportunity to watch TV on my PC.
Hulu has taken the Internet by storm and continues to grow in popularity. So much that WOW! has teamed up with Hulu to offer to our customers an easy way to watch your favorite TV shows without leaving your WOW! homepage. Loving it!
I am able to catch up on my favorite shows such as The Bachelorette or Greek without ever leaving my page.
I would highly encourage you to check out this great new addition to our customer portal at www.portal.wowway.net and click on TV shows.

I am sure like many of you, the hype of what we can call the 2010 NBA Free Agency is way overrated. I was over the whole LeBron and friends before it even started. Here in Chicago where basketball in the ’90’s reigned supreme, ruined me for what we call the game today. Back when Jordan, Magic, Larry, Charles and others played, you didn’t want to be on the same team as your buddy. You wanted to compete against one another for bragging rights of who had the better team.
On top of all of this, there was a one hour special for him to announce his decision. Seriously?! Why does one individual who has been hyped for so long to be one of the best players to come along and hasn’t done anything yet, deserve all this attention? Bottom line is money. He and Chris Bosh will ride on the coat tails of DeWayne Wade, who’s already won a championship, to try to get another one or two. The best part about all of this is that all the other teams in the league are going to be ready to take them on. At the end of the day, your skills on the basketball court should speak for you, not your agent, your PR team or those other individuals who see the dollar signs. With all this hype comes pressure and while they may not feel it now, they will for sure be feeling it when the season starts.
In Chicago, we know that you need a super star to jump start your team but you also need supporting players who will have your back no matter what. Maybe LeBron didn’t want to come because he couldn’t live up to our already storied history.
